Federer flies past Hewitt


World number one Roger Federer silenced the Melbourne Park crowd with a straight-sets victory over local favourite Lleyton Hewitt in round four of the Australian Open.
The Swiss top seed outclassed the Australian, easing to a 6-2 6-3 6-4 victory in under two hours as his title bid gathered pace.
His reward is a last-eight match-up with Russian sixth seed and ATP World Tour Finals champion Nikolay Davydenko.
Hewitt has not beaten Federer since 2003 and another defeat always looked likely when the 15-time Grand Slam king powered through the first set courtesy of two breaks.Read More »
